It all started with curiosity
Tornado Code’s roots go back to a childhood spent wondering how things work. Our founder came to software by following that question.

Looking inside systems
The first stop was cybersecurity. Understanding how a system is protected and where it breaks is why we think about security from the start in every line we write today.

Handing manual work to software
Repetitive, manual tasks were handed over to automations written in Python. Giving software the work that eats people’s time has been at the heart of what we do ever since.

From interface to database
Development from the interface to the server and the database was grounded through structured training. This is where our ability to build a project from start to finish in one pair of hands began.

In-flight sales software
Our founder was part of the team developing the software for in-flight sales (POS) devices of leading airlines, making payments run reliably and securely with no internet and everything in motion.

Software that runs factory warehouses
Warehouse, inventory and stock software was developed for large plants and rolled out on site. Industrial logistics was learned on the floor, not at a desk.

Warehouse software and websites
Warehouse and stock programmes for steel and manufacturing companies, and websites for businesses in many industries. This is where it became clear that a large factory and a small business expect the same care.

An offshore drillship
A system was built that brings all the operations of a drillship the size of a floating factory, from crew to accounting, into a single app. Today it runs without interruption on mobile, web and desktop.
