In July of this year Google announced that they will be taking further measures to push their agenda on SSL. Effectively meaning any sites that aren’t served over HTTPS will begin to see a direct impact on the amount of traffic received, mainly due to the negative impact it will have on the sites Google rankings.

From release 68, Chrome will begin to label sites that only load over HTTP as ‘Not secure’. Not the greatest look for any business looking to install confidence in any potential customers. However, as Google have now confirmed they will be using security as a ranking, this is a chance for you to get ahead of your competitors by ensuring your site has a security certificate installed.
